Ty Gray-El, ‘the Minister of Poetry’, is an author, internationally renowned spoken word artist and founder of Breath of My Ancestors, a cultural enrichment non-profit organization. The Power of the Spoken Word is evident each time this Inspirational Storyteller opens his mouth. He captures your imagination by weaving poetry, historical events and present-day facts into a bright celestial cloth that lifts the air, enlivens your spirit and stirs your soul. Ty’s poetry has touched the lives of more than 2 million people around the world and he has appeared on the Michael Baisden Show, the Russ Parr Morning Show, BET News and Mark Thompson's Sirius Radio Show.

Ty is the founder of Breath of My Ancestors, a cultural enrichment organization paying homage to the African/Edenic people who were the torch-bearers of civilization. The organization pays tribute to the spiritual, cultural and technical accomplishments of our forefathers and mothers throughout the African Diaspora, upon whose shoulders we stand and who brought civilization to the world.

As an author, poet, columnist, workshop designer, trainer, educator and minister, Ty also has more than 30 years of workshop and seminar facilitation experience. His skill in character-building, change management, human resource development and team-building effectiveness has earned him the respect of his colleagues as he has served as his own best case study. He is a Certified Stress Management Therapist through the National Association of Drug and Alcohol Interventionist. He is also certified through the American Seminar Leaders Association. For the past 20 years he has designed and delivered courses on self-esteem, interpersonal and group communication skills, as well as diversity and sensitivity workshops.
